Just to list a few other locations, Altona had its 4th driest summer since 1949, Brandon had its 25th driest summer since 1890 and Regina SK had its 5th driest summer since 1884.
Heat was hard to come by in summer 2017. Winnipeg Airport only had 6 days above 30°C, half the normal of 12 days. The heat was bottled up out west for most of the summer with Calgary experiencing its 2nd warmest summer on record since 1885 with an average mean temperature of 17.4°C (corrected for missing data). Humidity was generally low as well. Only 5 days had dewpoint over 20°C, half the normal of 10 days and all of which occurred in July.
Summer 2017 was also the first season since fall 2014 to finish colder than normal.
