The coldest that late or later in the spring were April 28, 1958 (average -12.0°C) and May 2, 1967 (-5.8°C). Other similarly cold afternoons were April 25, 1956 (-4.7°C) and May 1, 1967 (-4.1°C). - Both Wasagaming and Carman had the 2nd latest occurrence of -20.0°C or lower in southern Manitoba (excluding Grand Rapids and Berens River). Carman reached -20.0°C on Apr 17, while Wasagaming dropped to -21.9°C on the 18th. The latest -20 was in Dauphin on April 23, 1967. These numbers are via the ECCC merged climate dataset.
- The Forks had a 1-hr rainfall of 13.9 mm on April 23 during a thunderstorm. This would technically be a new record for April, except the Airport only had 8.7 mm within an hour. The record was 13.0 mm in 1961.
- Two extreme rainfall events in April. 49.9 mm from April 22-24 and 45.0 mm from April 29-30. Both were in the top ten largest 3-day rainfall events before May since 1872:
