NOTE ABOUT SNOWFALL - A reminder that snowfall measurements are now from Weatherlogics. They are now publically available at this website. Measurements are taken 4 times per day at synoptic hours, and follow MANOBS standards as closely as possible. Measurements are taken in a field in the southwestern portion of the city. The field is somewhat sheltered, particularly in the north and east sides, but blowing snow still occurs. They have procedures in place to come up with a snowfall amount in periods of heavy blowing snow.
- Snow was, in general, very fluffy this November (little in the way of moisture content). From Weatherlogics' measurements, the average snow-to-liquid ratio was 20:1. Ratios were as high as 47:1 in the afternoon of Nov 16.
- A windy November combined with low ratio snow resulted in an abnormally high number of days with blowing snow. 9 days had blowing snow at the Airport, tied with 1955 for most on record since 1953.
