Rainfall amounts varied throughout the city due to the spotty nature of thunderstorms. Highest amounts fell in the northeastern side of the city with 112 mm recorded in Transcona. Lowest amounts fell in southern and southwestern portions of the city with 60 mm in South St Vital and 55 mm in Charleswood.
The highest daily rainfall occurred in the northeastern side of the city on July 22 with 40-60 mm recorded in less than 2 hours. That same day, only a few millimetres fell in southern sections of the city.
Heat warning criteria was met July 30 and 31 as a result of high humidity. Humidex reached 39 and 40 respectively. These two days were also the only 30°C days of the month. The monthly maximum temperature was 31.5°C on July 31.
Winds were generally light. The maximum gust was only 59 km/h on July 24.
In the overnight hours of July 25, two rounds of thunderstorms brought nearly constant lightning, brief torrential downpours and pea to dime sized hail in the city.
The month finished slightly cooler than normal because of cooler nights.
